I can remember passing MCTC as we drove into Maysville for the first
time thinking how great it would be to work with college students. Little
did I know that within a few years I would actually be in that very position.
It was a privilege to work with students, and I hope that, in some small
way, I helped them in their journey to achieve great things. I was blessed
to work with wonderful people who made my job easier

Thirty years have come and gone since I first walked through the doors
of Maysville Community and Technical College. I’ve witnessed the
addition of 3 new buildings plus one more soon to begin, seen many changes
in curriculum, and worked with countless students as well as dozens of
fantastic co-workers. Through the years I’ve seen many of those students
and it’s always rewarding to learn of their success stories. Maybe
. . . just maybe . . . I have played a small part in that.

To me, MCTC means family. We all genuinely care about and appreciate
each other. As I served on the presidential search, all the candidates
stated that it’s so apparent that we enjoy working here and working
together.

I am thankful to Maysville Community and Technical College for providing
me the opportunity to earn a degree and pursue a career. The caring
attitude of the College gave me the encouragement to start as a work study
and to continue on into my present job responsibilities where I have a
chance to assist other students facing similar challenges. I am
proud to work for an organization where there is an opportunity to change
lives!

MCC provided me with a job for 19 years, and I finished my degree
there having started it at UK. My grandson, Eric
Brannen, began his college education at MCC and is now Quality Control
Engineer at Mitzubishi, and his wife Carrie is a Radiology Tech. at Meadowview
Reg Hospital… having started at MCC. Great school close to
home!

The college offered me the chance to be the first member of my family
to obtain a college education. It was a stepping stone for
me to grow as a person and gain self confidence and in deciding upon a
career in Nursing. The college has made a wonderful impact on our
community as evidenced by it’s continued growth.

like family. MCTC means being close to home and being with people I love.
It started me on my career path and allowed me to become a better person.

The beginning of the best part of my life is how I see Maysville Community
and Technical College. A new career, new friends, and something I was not
completely sure I could do. But, with the encouragement of family, friends,
and especially everyone at MCTC, I did it ! ! !

I never dreamed possible. Being able to watch each student grow through their
course work and seeing the smiles on their faces at graduation is such
