Part Of The Teenage Years

by Candi L. Singleton

 Imaginary fears, dreaming with tears...
all the while, looking up to your peers...

First scars, first scrapes,
Listening to old time types...

First jobs, first cars,
having crushes on athletic stars...

Saintly girls, mischievous boys,
throwing out old worn used toys...

First loves, going out,
only to hear our parents scream and shout...

Homecoming, Prom,
Having long conversations with your mom...

Getting drunk, Passing out,
Getting caught without a doubt...

Going to school, playing sports,
Getting into trouble over short shorts...

Making mistakes, growing up,
Graduation soon sums it all up...

Looking at old books of once learned Knowledge,
After high school, then comes college...

Time to change our lives once again...
Eventually it all soon ends...

Having thoughts of our fights and our fears,
Our laughs and our tears...

And all the bad times and good spent...
Within our TEENAGE YEARS...
